Locked Down by Facebook

Locked Down by Facebook

My Facebook account, “Abbot Tryphon”, has been locked down by Facebook, allegedly because someone was trying to hack into it. With well over 39 thousand followers on Facebook, it now means I’m unable to continue the daily postings of my blog, The Morning Offering, to followers who’ve been reading my daily postings, but do not subscribe to this Ancient Faith hosted blog. Our hightec expert, Father Nicodemus, tried to reconnect, but after a very long time trying, he had to give up in defeat. Please let any friends you know of who’ve been following me on Facebook, know the problem. This is causing me much grief, for so many followers on Facebook have been reaching out to me for counsel and help during these trying times, and know nothing of why I have seemingly walked away.

With love and blessings,

Abbot Tryphon

  1. I’m with Ancient Faith for your blog and prefer it. Facebook seems to be closing down a lot of people with one excuse or another. They leave me with a bad feeling actually. Oh well, as your recent post says, we must forgive!

    God bless & keep safe…..

    1. I’m so sorry to hear you have been hacked and closed down on FB, Abbot Tryphon. I receive your Morning Offering via email, so I am good. If there’s places we can post that people will read and know to subscribe other ways, please let those of us getting emails know. God bless. It is the Triduum and soon to be Easter for Roman Catholics, which I am. I love your Morning Offering and have found a lot of comfort and peace reading it and sharing it with my adult son.

    2. Maria, we are to forgive people, but not necessarily secular institutions such as Facebook., Twitter, etc. Most of these social platforms are in the hands of globalists who ‘hate’ anything to do with our Lord Jesus Christ.

      1. I agree with you ! Our Savior’s prediction is as true today as it’s been since He said this.

  2. I have shared this email in several Facebook Orthodox groups hoping to get your message out.

  3. I have never had Facebook nor has my wife. Something always felt wrong about it. We get your posts on Feedly app installed on my iPhone where I am subscribed through Ancient Faith. I would assume that many thousands of others also get your blog posts this and similar ways, bypassing Facebook. Thank you so much. Father, bless.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear of this. What a fallen, illogical world we live in. Please know we are out here, thinking of you and sending prayers of peace your way.

  5. + Father, bless.
    Dear Abbot Tryphon,
FB stopped my notifications about Orthodox church services at my parish months ago, I couldn’t access anything live, even though our priest sent out emails with service dates and times. I asked them to fix it four times. Now that our priest is posting links to parish services on our new YouTube channel, church service notifications are suddenly appearing in my FB notifications feed again.

      1. I just tried it as well, and if I do a search for you, I do get a FB page that has that post from 22 hours ago. But if there has been some pretty targeted and aggressive hacking, I suppose the page won’t stay as is for long?

Anyway, I will be checking more into the podcasts. Those at least are safe (for now?).

      2. Your page is there, and I posted a link to this article, in case it’s just that they’re not allowing you to post, which is about as unreasonable as it gets. If it’s not allowing you to post, then hopefully your many followers will see that link and know what’s going on.

      3. No problem, Abbot Tryphon! I share your writings every day and I will just do so from the blog here instead. Word of mouth or in this case, word of social media will gain you back some readers.

        PS…love the coffees!

  6. I shared this on Twitter under a post by Father Spyridon. Father Spyridon said YouTube was hiding his latest video. I begin each morning reading your blog posts and each evening listening to his videos to help me calmly go to sleep. My original Twitter account with over a 1000 was suspended. I use to interact with Fr Whiteford on Twitter but he was gone suddenly. I don’t know if they suspended him or if he voluntarily left because so many people have been suspended. We all need to pray, fast and get communities formed.

  7. Christ is with us
It may be a blessing that the account was suspended due to a hacker. A monastery near me was hacked and locked until a large sum of money was paid, so the monastery had to reinvent their computer and server at an expense they did not have. The hacker did not receive any ransom thanks be to God.
