I think of Pascha as a new beginning. New life! New spring! New resolve to live in the hope of the Resurrection! It is a perfect time for beginning again to take seriously my vocation as co-creator, pouring into each day as much beauty and goodness and kindness as humanly possible, trusting God The Creator to transform my humble offerings and efforts into divine reflections of His great compassion for this whole wide world.
To accomplish this I am praying for…
eyes that fixate only on the Light in both my circumstances and my neighbors,
for a mouth that speaks words of encouragement, not condemnation,
for ears that listen empathetically,
for a mind that dwells on what is lovely, pure, excellent, noble, and praiseworthy,
for a spirit that delights in spreading peace, healing wounds, and building bridges,
for a heart quick to repent and to forgive
I want to fill this blog, this little space, with uplifting images and reflections that inspire me to, regardless of the chaos and tempestuousness all around me, sing a song of tranquil transcendence. After all, this suffering here on earth is the not the final answer. And we are Loved.
O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
Christ is risen! And you, o death, are annihilated!
Christ is risen! And the evil ones are cast down!
Christ is risen! And the angels rejoice!
Christ is risen! And life is liberated!
Christ is risen! And the tomb is emptied of its dead;
for Christ having risen from the dead,
is become the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
To Him be Glory and Power, now and forever, and from all ages to all ages.
– St. John Chrysostom
