Help Vladik Find a Home

vladik.jpg

I am posting this at the request of John Hogg, an Orthodox Christian, who worked in a Ukrainian Orphanage. He’s trying to find a home for a wonderful child, Vladik. If you can be of help then contact John at his website. I have borrowed a picture of Vladik from John’s site as well. If you are able to be of help – send me a note at Glory to God for All Things, because I’m sure we’d all like to hear about it. May God bless young Vladik!

Having adopted a little boy from Eastern Europe (from Estonia, though of Ukrainian descent), I can say with authority that it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. He is a sweet loving child who has blended into our family with ease. He was 17 months when we met him and 18 months when he came home to live with us. He is four years old now.

It is a fabulous blessing, for us as much as him.

Being a single college student, I am in no position to adopt, but I do have two adopted brothers from Taiwan. They joined our family at ages 7 and 11 respectively, and they are now 14 and 15 years old. There were some rough patches with everyone having to adjust to each other, and even now none of us are perfect and we do tussle at times like brothers do, but overall our family is now so much bigger and more joyful and exciting than it was before and I wouldn’t go back.

That’s just my two cents endorsing adoption. God bless Vladik.

Father, Can you tell me if the young boy has been adopted as of today. I am doing a workshop on Adoption at the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago Clergy/Laity Assembly next week and I would love to put this info out.
